Vesuvius Monofrax :: 3D Animation

Monofrax is a leading supplier of glass manufacturing components, whose products have become a lexicon in the glass industry. CIS created an interactive CD-ROM and 3D animation to showcase how sand is melted into sheets of glass using Monofrax components. The 3D animation is a branding and education tool.

Pitbull Pumps :: Video and Animation

The Pitbull Pumps manufactured by the Chicago Industrial Pump Corporation (CIPC) is a revolutionary pump which has no impellers, no motors, no diaphragms, no seals, no level controls - a truly unique pumping solution. To showcase this patented device, CIS needed to integrate both video and CG animation to show exactly how the device functions.

The Vesuvius Monofrax project above took a few months to complete and involved a photo-realistic animation of how sand is turned into sheet glass using Monofrax Glass Refractory Components (specialized ceramics). The animation highlights the new Lip Spout Casing Assembly, and leads into a marketing CD-ROM also developed by CIS. Please note that for online purposes the demonstration animation is a low resolution sample (still 21 MB), the animation used on the CD-ROM is of a higher caliber (as lower compression was used). This 3D animation was developed using Alias Maya 3D, while the CD-ROM was designed and programmed in Macromedia Director.
